The forsaking of God’s commands results in progressive decline. To see the intent of the sabbath command and to be obedient can result in a real reformation.
When Christ calls, He brings us life by the power of his grace. Grace is transforming and results in continual stretching. Each new day demands a new commitment to change and a fresh expression of His Grace.
Like the paralyzed man, Matthew also needed healing. The call of Christ Jesus turned this hated sinner into a follower, witness and gospel writer. His story is full of applications which can be made here today.
The encounter of a paralyzed man with Christ had a purpose which was far deeper that a The lesson from this transformation speak to the common need of every person, the power of God’s grace, and the challenge to every forgiven heart.
From encounters individuals had with Christ, we can learn much about our greatest need and His willingness to meat that need.
