Following Christ is more than a “mountain top experience.” We must leave this mountain with some lessons for life!
When Jesus questioned the disciples concerning His identity, Peter’s answer, though incomplete, was a necessary confession. Christ’s question has never been more appropriate for our culture than it is today.
Sometimes tradition and religious privilege blind the heart and therefore block faith. However, when a pagan woman comes to Jesus with a sincere, through unenlightened faith, Jesus responds with a miracle of healing and grace. The outcome of this is clear. What will the final chapter of your story be?
As we establish priorities, we must keep that which is important to God essential for us. God is most concerned about the condition of the heart, not our traditions, and when we pretend, Jesus has authority to call us a hypocrite.
1. God’s Grace saves us.
2. God’s Grace trains us.
3. God’s Grace rewards us.
From the account of the ordination of the Apostles we can learn much about Christ’s plan. Our challenge today is to make it our passion.
